JAN MILIC (* after 1320 Tecovice Moravia- +1374 Avignon France ) Completer devotio Czech Modernism, in a sense the predecessor of Jan Hus. After studying in Olomouc and Italy worked as a notary in the royal office in Prague (1358-1962). In 1372 he founded the fallen girls’ exemplary community (House) Jerusalem. He gave up his office and lived in poverty. He wrote a number of Czech and German prayer books, the most important of the Libellus de Antichrist (book about the Antichrist), which recommended reform of the Church’s general council, fasted (sermon) Abortivus (Premature fetus) and Gratiae Dei (God’s Grace). Many were indicted for heretic between 1367 and 1369 to defend in Avignon, died before the end of the process.
